Santander Reminds UK Customers About Overlooked £3 Monthly Credit Card Fee

Santander has issued a reminder to its UK credit card customers about a recurring £3 monthly fee on their 1|2|3 Credit Card. The high street bank, with branches including those in Birmingham, emailed holders to highlight this charge, which some customers might have forgotten.

The bank stated: “We wanted to remind you that your 1|2|3 Credit Card has a £3 monthly fee. The cashback you’ve earned in the past few months hasn’t always covered this.”

Cardholders can track their current cashback earnings via their monthly statements or by checking transactions through Santander’s Mobile or Online Banking platforms.

The 1|2|3 Credit Card offers specific cashback rates: 1% at major supermarkets on spending up to £300 per month; 2% at leading department stores up to £150 per month; and 3% at major petrol stations as well as on National Rail and Transport for London (TfL) travel, combined spend capped at £100 monthly.

Santander’s website emphasizes that while credit card details can seem complex, understanding your card’s key features helps you maximize benefits. The bank provides a comparison table outlining the basic features of its fee-paying credit cards, assisting customers in selecting the card that suits their needs best.

Additionally, the 1|2|3 Credit Card does not charge foreign transaction fees on purchases or cash withdrawals made abroad in local currency. However, cash withdrawals incur a 3% fee. Exchange rates applied to foreign transactions are instantly visible in mobile or online banking.
