Pret A Manger Unveils Its First Ever UK Drive-Thru Location

Pret A Manger has made a milestone move by launching its first-ever drive-thru location in the UK. Situated near Junction 21 of the M6 motorway in Warrington, this innovative site covers over 2,000 square feet and is designed to serve motorists travelling through the North West.

The new drive-thru combines convenience with comfort, offering an indoor seating area for up to 48 customers, electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, and customer restrooms. The ordering process is streamlined through a single-lane system featuring a digital menu, ensuring a quick and easy experience for drivers on the go.

Ross Warnes, President of Pret UK & Ireland, highlighted the strategic potential of this launch: “Travel hubs and roadside locations present a huge growth opportunity for Pret. This is about meeting customers where they are, while continuing to deliver the same freshly made food and service.”

Jack Tindall, Head of Food Service Operations at Motor Fuel Group, who collaborated on the project, expressed his enthusiasm: “We’re incredibly proud to be part of launching this new format for Pret and look forward to serving the Warrington community.”

Pret A Manger, founded in 1983 in Hampstead, now operates over 717 outlets worldwide. This drive-thru introduction coincides with Pret’s latest spring menu rollout, launched on April 28. The new menu boasts the biggest update in years, emphasizing higher protein offerings, larger barista-crafted drinks, and satisfying, freshly made options to meet changing customer preferences.

Briony Raven, Pret’s Chief Food & Coffee Officer, elaborated, “We wanted this menu to offer more of what customers are looking for right now. Building on the success of our Super Plates—known for their rich fibre and protein content—we’ve introduced more protein choices, more substantial options, and great-tasting food and drink made fresh. From new high-protein recipes to larger barista-made drinks, this is our biggest menu update in years, with something for every part of the day.”
