Drivers risk facing fines totaling up to £10,000 by ignoring four common yet critical vehicle issues, according to findings from Yell. The company highlights engine management light warnings, low tyre pressure, squeaky brakes, and oil warning lights as the most frequently overlooked problems that can lead to costly penalties and safety risks.
Despite the importance of the engine management light, 43% of drivers admit to ignoring it. This negligence often leads to vehicle breakdowns—reported by 18% of drivers—resulting in fines up to £2,500, three penalty points, and potentially even driving disqualification.
