Marks & Spencer shoppers are being encouraged to arrive right at 9am when stores open to secure the best discounts. Money-saving expert Jordon Cox, popularly known as The Coupon King, advises that early birds can snap up the most attractive reduced-price deals.
In a recent video, Cox explained that “yellow sticker” discounts are typically put out overnight, meaning those who get to the store at opening time have first pick of the best bargains. “If you’re there at the crack of dawn, you’ll get first dibs over all the good stuff,” he noted.
For bakery lovers looking for discounted treats like cronuts, Cox recommends returning around 4pm when another round of markdowns usually happens.

Jordon describes the yellow reduced stickers as the “holy grail” of M&S Food savings, emphasizing their value to budget-conscious shoppers.
This advice comes as M&S celebrates the opening of its larger new Tottenham Court Road store. The previous location closed this Monday, making way for a spacious 10,600 sq ft store closer to the Underground station. The store opened yesterday at 9am, marked by a ribbon-cutting event featuring special guest Percy Pig.
The new store boasts an in-house bakery and coffee counter offering barista-quality drinks such as iced lattes and magic coffee alongside a selection of fresh bread and pastries.
Tottenham Court Road is one of four new M&S food stores opening in London this financial year, with six more locations undergoing transformations. These developments are expected to create over 150 new jobs. The launch follows the recent opening of the Tooting Broadway M&S food store.
Sam Dunbar, Store Manager at Tottenham Court Road, expressed excitement over the new outlet: “We have many new products for our customers to explore. Whether grabbing lunch or shopping for everyday essentials, we offer a wide range of M&S quality and trusted value items.”
Commenting on the opening day, Dunbar said the atmosphere was fantastic, with customers queuing to see the store. “A massive thanks to my team for all their hard work preparing the store. It’s been brilliant to welcome 17 new colleagues,” she added.
