Marks & Spencer has announced the permanent discontinuation of its popular Salt & Vinegar Mayo, much to the disappointment of fans. Introduced in 2023, this unique mayo, infused with malt and cider vinegar, quickly became a favorite, hailed by customers as a “game-changer” in the condiment world.
Despite its popularity and rave reviews from loyal customers, M&S confirmed they have no current plans to bring the product back. The decision comes ahead of the summer months, when BBQ season is in full swing, sparking frustration among shoppers who’ve expressed their sadness online.
M&S stated they remain committed to evaluating customer feedback for future product ranges but made clear that the Salt & Vinegar Mayo won’t be returning anytime soon.

On a brighter note, the retailer is expanding its selection of lower-strength beers this summer. Introducing four new own-label beers with alcohol content between 2.8% and 3.2% ABV, these options aim to complement the existing no and low-alcohol range in M&S Foodhalls nationwide.
Caroline Thompson-Hill, Head of Beers, Wines and Spirits at M&S, emphasized the growing trend among consumers to moderate alcohol intake rather than abstain completely, especially during busy social seasons. “Our new ‘sessionable’ beers offer great taste at lower strengths, giving customers more choice and control,” she explained.
These new beers will be available across M&S Foodhalls throughout the summer, providing shoppers with fresh options alongside the discontinued mayo’s absence.
