Heated Confrontation Over Alleged Dog Left in Hot Vehicle at Midland B&M Store

A heated argument erupted in the Lichfield B&M store at Imperial Retail Park amid accusations that a dog had been left inside a vehicle during the recent heatwave. The incident took place on Wednesday, June 24, when temperatures soared to 34°C.

Dramatic footage captured the intense exchange between a man and a woman. The woman claimed she had “liberated” the dog from a van, which she said was dangerously hot. In response, the man repeatedly demanded, “Give me my dog,” insisting that the window had been open and he had committed no crime.

Tensions escalated as the man threatened to “punch” the woman if she did not return the dog, shouting, “Give me my dog or I’ll lose my s***. Give me my dog you weirdo before I punch you in the face.” The situation intensified when he accused her of assault after being pushed back while holding the dog.

B&M employees intervened, attempting to defuse the situation by standing between the two individuals. Police were reportedly notified about the altercation.

Animal welfare experts strongly advise against leaving dogs in vehicles during warm weather due to the risk of heatstroke. The RSPCA stresses, “Never leave dogs in cars or other vehicles, caravans, conservatories or outbuildings in warm weather, even if only for a short while.”

Staffordshire Police and the RSPCA have been contacted for further comment. The footage was recorded by a concerned shopper with full consent of those involved.
