DWP Lists 87 Musculoskeletal Conditions Eligible for Up to £779 in PIP Payments

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed that 87 musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions qualify for Personal Independence Payment (PIP), with payments reaching up to £778.40 every four weeks. As of January 2026, over 1.2 million adults receive PIP specifically for MSK conditions.

PIP payments range from £30.30 to £194.60 per week, supporting claimants with muscle and joint conditions affecting their daily living and mobility. The DWP categorizes successful claims under more than 500 health conditions, ensuring tailored support based on individual needs rather than just the diagnosis.

It’s important to understand that eligibility depends on how a condition impacts daily activities, not solely on the medical diagnosis. Many claimants have multiple conditions contributing to their difficulties.
