Bake My Day, the beloved family-operated bakery chain from the Black Country, has announced the opening of a new shop in Wednesbury. Known for their signature 24-carat burnt top cob bread and nostalgic baked goods, the bakery already has popular locations in Great Bridge, Oldbury, and Black Heath.
The affordable menu features nostalgic cakes, pastries, sandwiches, and notably, sausage rolls priced at just £1—cheaper than Greggs—winning over customers across the region. The bakery’s expansion is a direct response to growing customer demand.
A recent statement on Bake My Day’s Facebook page shared the exciting news: “After negotiations and popular demand, we are pleased to announce that Bake My Day will be coming to Wednesbury. We are excited as a family to serve the people of Wednesbury. Our new location will be at 46a Union Street, just above the bus stop next to Morrisons. Grand opening day will be announced soon. Thank you to all our valued customers.”

The bakery was founded by Nathan Hadley, 33, who transitioned from a 12-year career as a police dispatcher to the food industry. Nathan initially opened a jacket potato shop on Brades Road, Oldbury, before acquiring and revamping the former Sutton Bakery in Great Bridge. His vision has always been to offer fresh, high-quality baked goods at fair prices.
“Our customers wanted freshly baked bread, traditional cakes, and burned cobs. Introducing a deli counter filled with quality meats like ham, beef, turkey, and sometimes roast chicken sourced from a Leicester farm has been a key part of our strength,” Nathan explained.
The announcement has been met with enthusiastic support on social media. Elaine Wood commented, “Bake My Day, you have made my day.” Rebecca Hadley shared, “Congratulations! It’s great to see a local business thriving with such strong community support.” Sarah Ann Costin New added, “Fantastic news. You’re going to make a real difference in Wednesbury, and people will definitely be buying your products.”
Bake My Day’s continued expansion highlights the growing demand for quality, affordable bakery products rooted in local tradition.
