Aston Villa Pledge to Simplify Physical Season Ticket Requests with New Scheme

Aston Villa has announced plans to improve the process for supporters requesting physical season tickets, aiming to make it smoother and more accessible ahead of the next campaign.

Last season, Villa implemented the Premier League’s new digital ticketing system, which required fans to use the official Villa app to access matches at Villa Park. While this change modernized entry procedures, it also caused frustration among some supporters, especially those who preferred or needed physical tickets.

Of the 2,107 supporters who sought physical season tickets last season, roughly half were initially turned down. The club stated that physical tickets would be reserved for fans with medical or accessibility needs. Ultimately, 929 supporters received physical cards immediately, with another 197 gaining them after appeals.

At a recent Fan Advisory Board meeting, Aston Villa clarified its stance: any supporter who requires a physical season ticket will be granted one, without needing to provide medical documentation or prove their eligibility. Acknowledging the difficulties some fans faced, the club promised to streamline the request and approval process for the upcoming season.

In addition to improving ticket access, Villa plans to launch a “Souvenir Ticket” scheme. This initiative will give supporters the option to purchase commemorative season cards or match tickets as keepsakes, whether or not they qualify for physical season cards or mainly use digital tickets. The exact launch date of the souvenir ticket program remains to be announced, but it promises fans a tangible memento of the season or individual games.
